MONICA BRANT
What can I possibly say about Monica Brant that hasnt already been said somewhere before. It would take me days and days to write about all of her accomplishments so I wont bother with that either. Rather, I would like to talk a little about my personal experiences with the woman that so many adore, the one the only, the fitness icon, MO!
Many many years ago, long before I was involved in the fitness industry, I was attending the Arnold Classic evening show. The men were on stage and I was out in the lobby waiting for a friend to arrive. There was no one around other than some vendors and ushers. As I stood there in the hallway, a gorgeous blonde who also happened to be waiting on someone said hello to me and we had a very brief conversation. It was short and sweet and just very polite and indicative of someone with not only excellent manners but a genuine heart. It was Monica Brant herself, a woman who was already plastered all over every magazine cover and a woman whom by all means didnt need to talk to some random dude in the lobby. But she did and it stayed with me all this time.
Fast forward to 2010... its time for the Arnold Classic again, except this time that same random dude is doing a LIVE photoshoot onstage for the annual charity afterparty. I set out to get the best of the best to model for me that evening and tops on my list was that same gorgeous girl from the lobby, Monica Brant. I half expected to deal with someone who might be a diva but I was dead wrong. From our first phone conversation right up to the time she hit the stage, Monica was a sheer pleasure to work with and be around. Each time I found myself really impressed by her character and how sweet and down to earth she was.
She did inform me that she might be very late for the shoot as she had to make an appearance at another event for the pros. I was a nervous wreck. Here I was about to conduct my biggest ever live photoshoot and the star of my show might be very late! Being the trooper that I am, I just rolled on with the show right on time. After all it was beyond my control and I had an awesome roster of models there ready to go. ON WITH THE SHOW!!!!!!!! I was 20 minutes into the live shoot when out of the corner of my eye I saw standing there on the side of the stage, looking stunning and ready to go, the one the only MONICA BRANT.
When she stepped onstage the crowd went insane and for one very very rare moment in my career I caught myself dumbfounded. I approached the stage and whispered to her, ";;I cant believe I am actually shooting you";;...... she played it off so cool and totally put me at ease with her comment back to me and we got right back to business and WE ROCKED THEM ALL!!!!!! Yup, me and that girl from the lobby! :)
Working with Monica was an absolute pleasure and a total high for me and I only hope that she and I can create more magic in the future.
