CD Review
Sheryl Crow
Sheryl Crow is an artist sure to achieve icon status in the annals of music. Over the past ten or so years she has written some of the most honest songs along with the catchiest hooks. Love her or dislike her, odds are you have caught yourself humming one of her songs and related to it one way or the other. It is no surprise then that A&M Records has released The Very Best Of Sheryl Crow. A collection of seventeen songs, most of which you have heard on the radio at one time or another.
On songs like 'All I Wanna Do' and 'Soak Up The Sun' one tends to get the feeling that Sheryl Crow is the happiest woman alive yet when you hear the tracks 'My Favorite Mistake', 'The Difficult Kind' or 'Home' you realize that she too has been through some of the same hardships that the rest of us go through, showing us her incredibly human side. She also knows when to just pick up a guitar, plug in and forget about the problems and just rock as she displays on the songs 'Steve McQueen' and 'There Goes The Neighborhood'. No matter what mood you are in or what mood the song portrays, every single song on this cd is raw, honest rock and roll at its best.
